Alf Temme

Alf was born in Germany and raised in the Netherlands, and emigrated to America in his early 20s. He holds a B.A. in Architecture from the College of Arts and Architecture in the Hague, Netherlands, and an additional degree in engineering from Stockholm University.
The Temme family has been involved in the fitness industry in the U.S. since 1963, owning and still operating a family-run business manufacturing sauna baths (www.nordicsauna.com). In the 1980, the family developed a national chain of stores featuring state-of-the-art fitness equipment.
Over the years, Alf has diligently worked on educating the public about achieving and maintaining good health. He's found that the majority of people disregard the importance of exercise, and see it as an inconvenience. With the invention of the ROM Machine in 1990, Alf quickly recognized it as a valuable tool, not only for preventative health maintenance, but for time management.
Alf´s belief in the machine led to the full scale production of the ROM Machine. Under his watchful eye, each machine is finely crafted with precision parts. Hand finishing and inspection ensure that every detail
on each Machine meets the full standard of excellence for construction and durability.

Born and raised entirely in the suburban San Fernando Valley in Southern California, Tom is one of our fewCalifornia natives. With a background in fitness and martial arts, he has worked with the Temme family for over 25 years, handling the West Coast distribution of Trotter (Cybex) treadmills, Dynavit stationary bikes from Germany, and other high-end retail equipment.
Since 1990, Tom has overseen the production and shipping of The ROM Machine for ROMfab. With his deep mechanical knowledge, he ensures that each component on the Machine is carefully inspected, thenadjusted to interact with the rest of the Machine in perfect unison.
Tom personally tests each Machine before it leaves the factory. His constant attention to detail ensures that each Machine is shipped completely assembled and arrives at its destination in working order and ready to use. He is the go-to guy with any questions about the mechanics of the ROM Machine and the physiology of the body, and how they interact during the workouts.

Carol met the Temme family after moving back to Los Angeles from Hawaii in 1985. Since then, she has been involved with ROMfab in an all-out effort to let the world know about the ROM machine.
Carol juggles many hats, but mainly works with the creative aspects: handling the placing of advertising, designing and producing ad material, overseeing any promotions or publicity, as well as handling inquiries for product placements or other media-related requests.

Alf´s daughter joined the family business in 2006 after attending school in Germany and living in France. Britt extensive business knowledge and background in foreign languages helps facilitate the international orders for the ROM Machine. Among numerous other responsibilities, she oversees the ordering process, shipping details, and delivery information for machines being shipped around the world. Since joining the company, she´s also picked up some mean forklift driving skills.
